Katrina from Georgia says
Life is difficult enough with all that is thrown at you. I made a difficult but valuable choice to wait until marriage.
My husband was my first real adult relationship and my first major test of my God-given principles. It was hard to wait and I came close to slipping on several occasions; too close for comfort, in fact, and I regret those moments. I tried to reason with myself and use worldly excuses for my behavior, but in the end, the wait was well worth it because now I have the comfort and security that God had promised for me. In the past, whenever I hit those patches of lustful desires, I tried to quote scripture to myself and my scripture of choice is Jeremiah 29:11. It states, "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." My hope and future are ever unfolding before me with each new day that I spend with God and my husband. Do not listen to the stories that there are no men out there who will respect your values and wishes to wait. If you are worth it, and you are, they will wait and they will truly love you for you. I know!
